The first time in KSA, reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament by double bundle technique

Successfully the first surgery for reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament by double bundle technique was performed at Saudi German Hospital group the unique in Orthopedics and Traumatology in footballer’s knee; he had a severe injury in his knee during soccer training match.
Dr. Alhusseiny Moustafa Arthroscopic knee surgeon and sports injuries consultant at Saudi German hospitals Jeddah , explained that the latest world wide trends is to reconstruct the two parts of the Anterior cruciate ligament as normally the anterior cruciate ligament formed by two parts anteromedial and posterolateral components.
Whereas all the previous surgeries depended on reconstruction of one part only of the ligament the anteromedial portion .
He reported that this method is superior to the previous surgeries and gave higher results with more stable knee.
He mentioned that the forementicned way has been applied late a world wide level especially at USA and Japan whereas it’s the first tape carried in KSA.
According to Doctorzxc s opinion especially youths & footballers are most liable to knee and cruciform ligaments injuries.
