2006-06-05
SANA’A – The world-class Saudi German Hospitals Group (SGH Group) is getting ready for the launching of its massive hospital project in Yemen in the few coming days. The Saudi German Hospital Sana’a (SGH Sana’a) reached its last phase in May 2006, whose construction works started in March 2002 emphasizing the punctuality of the contractors.
According to Mr. Emad Hassanien, Chief Operating Officer at the 300-bed of capacity, the SGH Group continues to efficiently contribute in the medical and health care areas by inaugurating its unique medical project in Yemen with the group brand name.
The SGH Sana’a includes all medical specialties in addition to a group of sub-specialties using the most sophisticated and up-to-date international medical equipment known for their accuracy and efficiency. The hospital adopts the Siemens Medicals Technology as far as technology is concerned. The hospital is fully computerized in a way to help eliminate the paper-based medical reports. Patients’ records will be digitally stored to be viewed or reviewed in any facility of the hospital through the sophisticated information system.
This technology helps keeping history and records for all patients throughout the treatment process. Administrative sources at the hospital expected that President Saleh will officially inaugurate the joint Yemeni Saudi project in the next few days. The inauguration of the hospital will be a great help for the Yemeni society in terms of providing up-to-date medical services and covering all specialties. The existence of such kind of hospitals with that size of capacity will reduce the number of Yemeni patients traveling abroad for sufficient medical care and specialized surgery.
“The SGH Sana’a is the outcome of productive investment thinking on the part of the Yemeni government towards opening new investment fields, especially in health sector for a first-class service provider like the SGH Group,” said Hatem Mohammed Abd El-Rahman, PR, Advertising and Publicity Manager. “This group is one of the largest medical institutions in the Middle East.” The SGH Group is established in 1988 to provide reliable quality medical care to you, focusing on subspecialties and giving unique care in orthopaedics and traumatology.
The group has a clear vision to construct 30 world-class hospitals in the Muslim world. SGH Group is considered the largest private Healthcare company in the MENA region (Middle East & North Africa). The group is a multi functional Healthcare company which is considered a Healthcare developer and not just an operator. It constructs its own hospitals (1000 Construction staff) and finances its developments with the support of local Government and development Banks. The SGH Group various facilities operate with the support of many German Medical Schools & Faculties.
“Our corporate vision is to design, finance, construct and operate 30 world-class hospitals by 2015 and create 50,000 jobs in healthcare industry Inshaa Allah,” the vision statement on group website states. The SGH Sana’a, a joint ventured project of Saudi German Hospitals Group and national sector in Yemen, came in pursuance of that mission. The project, one of 13 completed and functioning projects, is expected to play a revolutionary role in the uplift of health care facilities in Yemen in particular and in the region in general. The new hospital is composed of International Community with professional competence and international reputed staff.
According to the hospital officer, the SGH Sana’a will pave the road to providing jobs and training opportunities to the Yemeni professionals in administrative and medical areas. In addition, the hospital will refreshes tourism through attracting more people for treatment tourism. “It is measurable,” says the officer. “We can measure the volume of this type of tourism if we know that cost of treating critical cases among Yemeni people only is almost half a billion US dollars. Considering the law health condition in the neighboring countries and East Africa, we can predict the impact of treatment tourism.”
“There’s no doubt that the partnership between SGH Group and the Yemeni national sector including Yemen Airways, Ministry of Interior, Social security General Association and the Kuwaiti International Investment Company supports the steps of economic reform plans as a method adopted by the Yemeni government,” added the officer. The trust of the government sector in Yemen put on SGH Group came due to the success of operating its facilities in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and UAE.
