Siemens wins AED 100 million contract with Saudi German Hospitals Group

Siemens LLC Medical Solutions is pleased to announce that it has secured an order of AED 100 Million contract from Saudi German Hospitals Group, the largest private Healthcare company in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) to supply complete diagnostic imaging solutions, along with a comprehensive oncology suite for its new multi specialty tertiary level Hospital branded as SGH Sanazxc a, that will start its operation within short span of time in the capital city of Republic of Yemen.
Saudi German Hospitals Group is the number one health care brand in Middle East and Africa. SGH provides quality medical care to its patients in all its world class facilities that include cancer treatment, open heart surgery, complete orthopaedic procedures, maxillofacial surgery, vascular surgery neurology etc. SGH Group follows an aggressive growth strategy to achieve itzxc s vision to have 30 world class hospitals and generate 50,000 jobs by the year 2015.
The latest addition to the SGH Group is its hospital in Yemen. This is a model for the region on Public Private Partnership in healthcare. Government of Yemen has invested in this project with SGH and has created a world class hospital that is developed to be the "Mayo" clinic of the African Horn. SGH Sanazxc a hospital is a 300 bed facility and the provision of such leading technology means the ultimate in diagnosis and treatment facilities available for patients in Yemen. To date this is the largest Siemens Med total solution order to be implemented in Yemen
Siemens will supply a complete diagnostic imaging solution, which will include the high-end magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner Magnetom Avanto, the RIS & PACS system for a film less digital operation, Siemens Molecular Imaging tools, angiography system and Cathlab. While the oncology suite will provide a state-of-the-art radiation therapy tool, utilised from diagnosis of cancer to treatment planning, actual treatment and the subsequent follow-up. The equipment installation will commence immediately in early January 2006.
This announcement further strengthens the existing strong relationship between Siemens and the SGH Group. Siemens already has a number of existing installations with the SGH Group of hospitals in Saudi Arabia. The confirmation of this project contribute to the fulfilment of the SGH Groupzxc s expansion plans in the region.
